I’ve worn nearly every major brand name device available (CB6000, HolyTrainer, etc.), plus two MM Jailbirds (one still in my collection), and right now I’m wearing a Steelworxx Looker 01 equipped with a removable urethral tube.
The look and feel of the Looker are absolutely perfect for me! There are four main reasons why I chose it: I appreciate how easy it is to clean due to its open design, love the ergonomic shape of the A-ring, value the extra security provided by the urethral tube without needing a piercing, and hoped that the tube would effectively guide my urine flow to keep things tidy rather than having urine spray everywhere. However, since I have a very wide urethra (I wear the largest retainers from Tetherspout; those familiar with their product know what size we’re talking about), when I urinate, some of it goes through the tube but much flows around it. Naturally, this external stream hits the cage bars and sprays outward.
So here is my question: **For everyone who uses urethral tubes: When you pee, does the urine stay inside the tube as intended, or do you also experience flow around the outside that causes spraying and messiness? Some dripping is fine… I expect it and don’t mind it.
I’m asking because I plan to take one of two actions:
- Have a larger diameter urethral tube custom-made so it directs a much higher percentage of urine through the channel.
- Or, like @zorglub, commission a custom Tetherspout with a wider spout opening (larger than their standard offerings) because that design seals well and ensures all urine passes through the tube.
