Once confident in its long-term viability, we initiated an extended lock-up period. He has been mostly locked for the past couple of weeks, with Tuesday marking the start of our latest stretch until last evening—a result I am very pleased with. Five days of continuous 24/7 locking is a solid beginning, though his resistance was built up over even longer periods prior to that total lock-up. I permitted him to unlock yesterday because he was experiencing significant pain starting from the previous night. After bathing and allowing some air circulation during free time, he has been re-secured. It took considerable effort to reach this milestone, but I believe it pays off for both my peace of mind regarding his safety and his satisfaction in achieving near-permanent locking.
