I set up the new JailHouse M200 yesterday afternoon right after it got here, and I had a wonderful night with zero pain. But today was my “clean and shave” day. My wife joined me in the shower this morning to watch over things while we did our routines. It’s not an easy life.

We spotted some red marks just before putting Harold back into his cage, so I swapped from the 45 mm ring (which had worked yesterday) for a 50 mm one that I couldn’t keep on during my first attempt earlier.

It felt much better initially. Around lunchtime, after tugging at things a bit, he slipped out again. After retrieving the key and applying some lotion, we got him back in, but it was pinching me slightly so I adjusted his position—only for “the old leftie” to escape once more. He went back in yet another time. Still feeling that pinch. Another breakout occurred shortly after.

My wife wasn’t thrilled about having to fish the key out from under him again. This round, however, I inspected the cage closely and identified some potential pressure points causing issues (I believe they are resolved now). The problem lies with minor flaws in the device itself rather than my body shape. Since I occasionally do metal plating work at home, I added a fresh coat of rhodium where previous layers had worn off.

The material isn’t magnetic; if it’s stainless steel then it must be quite soft since there appears to have been chrome applied over copper underneath.

Currently wearing the 45 mm again. Why don’t manufacturers offer sizes beyond those pesky five millimeter steps? Perhaps using a smaller ring was part of why things kept slipping, although I can still slide my finger all around between myself and it when applying lotion without trouble too… Maybe irregularities near welds caused some pinches but overall length seems spotless plus being discreet makes this setup worth trying further.

What do you think? Should I stick with it going forward? Being able to clean out air circulation sounds nice… Besides, my HT is still over a week off within its sealed container.
