I’m preparing to place an order with MM and have my sizing rings on their way. I’ve come across various tips online and would appreciate it if anyone who owns a Jail Bird or Watchful Mistress could help clarify a few things.
1. Padlock. The images all depict the lock hanging off to one side. Is that just how they photographed them, or is that its natural resting position?
2. Plastic lock hole. Has anyone ordered this feature? If so, does the lock sit flush against the cage or protrude outward? Regarding the screw option, I was told it provides proof of non-interference. Since I work on cars, my tool chest has wrenches that fit the screw head.
3. The screw option. Does this help reduce or prevent the cage from rotating?
4. The base ring. Thumper mentioned on his blog that a double-wide design might be more comfortable. Has anyone tried it? Or have you asked for just a single, wider base ring?
5. Oval base ring. With the oval shape, is the flat side positioned at the top or bottom, or can I choose?
These are my main questions right now; any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
