I’m sharing my take on three popular ball trap devices, judging them purely by comfort, fit, and how easy they are to use.

First off, material is mostly personal taste. A lot of people swear that steel is the only true chastity device. Others claim a PA (penile attachment) is essential. My view? I don’t buy into those arguments or their validity much; everyone has their own preference.

For context, I have what’s called “grower” anatomy, ranging from 1.5 inches to 6 inches, with testicles that are usually described as “High and Tight.” I put my devices on using the sock method and always use baby oil gel for lubrication. I’ve tried silicone lubes and many other types, but trust me—baby oil gel is superior.

CB6000s My first chastity device was the classic CBT-6000s. I bought an authentic one from a trusted dealer and got it in just three days.

When I opened the box, there were nearly two dozen parts to choose from so I could assemble a fit. It took me weeks of tinkering before I settled on the 2-inch ring with the second-smallest spacer. Assembling and wearing this device is fiddly. Once it was fitted correctly, I filled just over half the tube while flaccid.

Tip: ALWAYS use baby oil gel. Also, make sure the raised lettering that indicates the ring size faces outward to prevent irritation. It’s so discreet that I didn’t notice it until reading about it later. After ensuring the code faced outwards, most of my burning stopped.

I also used epoxy putty to seal the vent holes, which I think is a must. They really should move those holes further down toward the end of the tube.

Comfort: Even with baby oil gel and modifications, I quickly got sore spots and burning sensations. I stuck it out doggedly until I could sleep in it regularly, but no matter how I set it up, I couldn’t wear it for more than two days straight. Erections were painful, and the worst part was that it tended to fall out during the day. Using a smaller spacer hurt too much, so I abandoned that idea. Urinating while standing was relatively easy, though I had to push the cage back slightly, which seemed to restrict flow just a bit.

If you decide to try the CB-6000s or any of its variants, remember: it breaks you in; you don’t break it in.

Steel There are many steel devices available, with custom-made ones seeming like the best options. I was reluctant to spend big on a custom piece until I experienced steel firsthand, so I tried various models ordered from eBay and DHgate. I quickly realized that solid rings provide comfort.

I settled on a 2-inch ring which was very comfortable, but the cage wasn’t entirely hygienic. I eventually considered ordering from Mature Metal, but the weight of the device and the clicking noises when walking put me off. Many people love metal devices, but my partner couldn’t stand how they looked. At first, it added to the “kink,” but eventually, even I got tired of it. Again, everyone has their own preference.

Holy Trainer I had seen the Holy Trainer when it was new, but initially, they didn’t offer a short tube version. After my other devices failed me, I revisited the site and saw they had released a new short, transparent model. My partner prefers clear plastic anyway, so that was an added bonus.

Ordering from Switzerland worried me at first, but I found that John at Keptforher offered the device in the US. After doing more research and asking countless questions, I contacted John and ordered a 50mm white ring with a small clear tube.

When I opened the box, there were only three pieces! Great news! The ABUS lock was also quite nice.

The ring looks unique, but putting it on was quick. Many people who use solid rings prefer lots of lube or applying them in the shower using soap. Personally, I found those methods frustrating because everything gets too slippery to handle. I found the easiest method is to start dry: grab your scrotum and as much skin as possible through the ring, push one testicle at a time into the tube, then slide the penis in.

Next, liberally lube the ring and coat the inside of the tube with baby oil gel. Finally, put on a panty hose sock over your penis and feed the other end through the tube to pull the penis fully inside. It sounds complicated but isn’t; there are several online videos that will save you frustration. Once mastered, it takes about one minute.

Technically, this device is a huge leap forward. The solid ring prevents short hairs from getting caught and pulling out. The ergonomic design offers comfort beyond any other ring I’ve tried. The tube design removes harsh edges and extends back further, making it much more secure than the others I tested. The safety cap has a nice design that meets at the rear of the tube to prevent irritation. Clearly, someone put serious thought into this design and tested it thoroughly.

Erections are no longer painful, and the device is very lightweight and easy to wear. It doesn’t protrude as much as the CB-6000s, even though the cage length is nearly identical. Urinating was easier than with the CB-6000s using the same technique of pushing the tube back; unlike the CB-6000s, it didn’t seem to restrict flow.

The clear tube does become somewhat flexible with body heat, but the ring itself doesn’t soften significantly, keeping everything secure. The only potential improvement would be making the front urine hole longer and better finishing the mold seams. Fortunately, the material is easy to work with; I just used an Exacto blade at a 90-degree angle to scrape down seam lines until they were flush. It took two minutes total.

It’s a testament to the design that I’ve worn it continuously since day one. It’s comfortable, lightweight, doesn’t click, and my partner loves how it looks. The bottom line is that the CB series has been completely outclassed in every way by the Holy Trainer at the same price point.

Notes: I’ve seen posts comparing ring sizes across devices. My experience is that the 2-inch (50mm) size is identical, if not slightly tighter than the 2-inch CB-6000s ring. Overall, it fit and stayed on the first time. Although the shape isn’t perfectly round compared to a standard ring, circumference is what matters.

There has been some concern about the flexibility of the transparent tube, with reports of ripping if temperatures get too high. John at Keptforher told me this only happened once and was replaced immediately. I was hesitant because the transparent rings are softer than the regular ones, but after wearing it, I’m glad I did.
