Everyone here, I own a PA-5000 and have a piercing. It’s hands down the finest gadget I’ve ever used for security, comfort, and hiding it well. My current struggle is time.
I’m writing to ask if anyone else has faced these same headaches and what solutions they found.
After roughly 5 hours, I hit a wall where the plastic loses moisture, my piercing hole adheres to the plastic surface, leading to painful rubbing and pulling. I haven’t figured out how to keep that spot lubricated properly. Just squirting lotion down there doesn’t help much; in fact, it makes the area feel messy and develop an odor very fast.
Any tips?
It’s also possible my unit is too tight. When soft, the tube looks like it should have some room, but even then, the tube feels full with a bit of skin poking out through the slats.
Should I get the next size up?
Lastly, maybe I just need to persevere and gradually increase the time in the cage each session? The pain level is similar to what I felt when adjusting to a steel belt—initial cutting sensations—but you can’t really bend a PA-5000 like metal to fix it. I’m terrified of tearing my piercing since that takes forever to heal (I’ve been there, done that).
Thanks for the feedback!
My long-term goal is switching to a custom tube with a design similar to the PA-5000 from steelwerksextreme.ca - but first I need to nail down any issues with my current one so I know what adjustments are needed for the custom titanium version.
