Earlier in the thread, I noted that my cage was giving me trouble because a small divot had formed at the base of my penis. To let it heal before putting the device back on, I took a week off. As I started caging again, I proceeded with some caution and took several precautions. One thing I did was cover the spot with a bandage; this way, if bleeding restarted, there would be proof of it. Additionally, I made sure to uncage myself during both morning and evening routines to inspect things properly, putting on a fresh bandage each morning. For the first two days, everything appeared normal.

However, earlier today when I woke up, I was actively bleeding from that spot—enough that I had to dab it with a paper towel. It really bothers me not knowing exactly what’s happening. I’ve felt over my cage thoroughly and found no rough edges or metal shards digging into me, so friction seems like the culprit. This time around, I’ve been using baby oil gel both day and night after checking things. I’ve also tried to steer clear of porn and other stimuli that trigger an erection. My nighttime erections seemed to cease by the second day, or at least they stopped waking me up. So, I’m still a bit puzzled about how this injury occurred. Did applying the bandage actually make matters worse?

I’ve decided to try out another cage before giving up completely, just in case there’s a gap problem or something similar. Does anyone have experience with cages from the oxy-shop? I assume their quality is superior to those inexpensive Chinese imports. I’m considering getting this model from them

Lastly, what should I do with my old cage now that I don’t plan on using it again? Can I recycle it?

The oxy-shop model you mentioned is a standard Chinese design; the reseller just marks up the price. It might fit your anatomy well enough, but don’t expect it to be significantly better manufactured than others. Regarding what could be causing the issue with your current cage, I suggest examining closely where the bottom bars connect to the ring. Even if you didn't feel any roughness with your fingers, skin on a flaccid shaft can get caught in crevices that fingertips miss. I suspect there is somewhat of a sharp edge located within that junction.
