Difficulties with wearing a device? discussion

My wife and I have been talking lately about chastity and how much of a part she wants it to play in our future. She is aiming for something more lasting than the Holy Trainer I currently wear, but worries that better hygiene and less urine splash might not be worth the switch.

We are considering designs with more open areas for ventilation and cleanliness. We also want one that includes a PA pin.

I’d love to hear from anyone here who has moved from enclosed devices (like the Holy Trainer) over to more open barred cages with PA locks, specifically regarding how cleanliness and urination change. Did it get better, worse, or stay about the same?
