I realize this is a common topic, likely surfacing almost as soon as the first chastity device was introduced. For the past few years, Mrs Edge and I have stepped back from intense chastity play; rather than being locked for months on end continuously, we’ve done it in spans of a couple of weeks here and there. There’s no issue with that approach—it just means that after more than twelve years together, we needed some time to breathe. We’re talking about returning to it now, particularly because my budget-friendly A272 stainless device is both comfortable and secure. Previously, she kept her own lock, while I held the emergency key wrapped in tamper-evident tape on my car keys. Last night, a conversation mix-up led to the suggestion that she might hold both keys; meaning I wouldn’t even possess an emergency key, regardless of whether it was wrapped or not. She would handle unlocking me for weekly cleaning (and play whenever she chose), and that would be all. I have never actually used my emergency key before, nor is it rare for me to leave it at home for days on end. But the thought of having no backup key available? It turns out to be surprisingly arousing for both of us. Naturally, she voiced some worry about what happens if I have an accident while working, but as we talked through it, I started questioning whether that matters much. If the incident were severe enough, I probably wouldn’t even have the time or opportunity to quietly unwrap a key and remove my device anyway. So, does anyone else go without an emergency key completely? How has that worked for you? And please feel free to share any other insights. If you want more detail, I wrote a bit more about this scenario on my blog.
