After a long wait, it looks like my piercing can handle the Nylon printed PA prong on my Evotions #8. We took it out after a few days to check if the PA was sticking—it wasn’t, which is great news!—and decided to use that chance to try the cage in ringless mode.
I’m wondering for those of you using ringless devices: how far down toward the base does your device sit? Mine seems pretty short and doesn’t cover much area.
Note: I ordered this cage a bit too short overall, but I’m waiting on adjusted parts. However, I went with an extended ring so I wouldn’t have to pay full price for new top/bottom pieces until I know if I also need more circumference. The longer cage should make me look narrower. Right now, the compression is so strong that my sides bulge out a bit. My point is, even though this device is inherently short, it made me think about how long to choose when going ringless only. Since I wear it with a ring 99% of the time (and can get away with shorter length then), maybe once I get my new parts I’ll find a good middle ground. So, just for comparison: how far down does your ringless device go?
