I own a JailBird which fits well and snugly, with no issues aside from some initial skin tension beneath the main ring. I keep it locked for varying durations at My Lady’s discretion, up to two weeks so far, taking only a few minutes out each day to wash (being uncircumcised makes this preferable).
A couple of weeks back while washing after being released, I spotted what appeared to be a pair of narrow bruises on the underside of my shaft—roughly 2mm wide and 8mm long. Within hours, the surface skin broke open like a blister did, leaving an open wound that healed over several days.
The same occurrence happened recently; I noticed a row of tiny blood blisters in nearly the exact spot as before, acting identically by opening into a narrow cut. It is healing nicely now.
In both instances, visual inspection was enough—no pain or discomfort and no extra swelling. The common factor is they appeared after being locked up for several days, aligning with the direction of the internal cage bars along the shaft.
I always sterilize my JB in very hot water, ensuring it’s thoroughly dry before putting me back on as well. I don’t believe infections are the culprit (yes, I even got an STI test just to be sure) and am otherwise healthy. I avoid lubricants because once used one and endured the agony of a testicle slipping through the gap!
It seems like some kind of bruising occurs in that thin surface skin before breaking down.
Any suggestions are welcome.
