Preventing Chafing and Raw Skin Under the Ring

I use a Holy Trainer nub with a 45mm ring. Periodically, I have to take it off because the skin under my scrotum where the ring touches my testicles turns red and irritated. Does anyone know of any salves, ointments, or lotions that can help reduce this redness so I can wear it longer? It typically occurs after roughly two weeks, followed by at least three days without it to heal up. I tried a 40mm ring before but found it too tight. This really interferes with my long-term chastity goals. Thanks.
