Health problems and ED

Has anyone here done chastity because of health problems, and does it take the pressure off sex or enable a different kind of sexual life? I’m really puzzled by another couple struggling with their intimacy. They haven’t had intercourse in ages. The wife finally insisted he perform orally, which she said was excellent. However, she was also frustrated that he didn’t manage to get an erection. There are hints that he has dealt with depression and/or some bodily issues. I understand her desire for a physical response, but being more adaptable would be progress.
