Has Anybody Shrunk It Down Enough?

I’ve been using my MM JB for a few years now. It’s great, but I’m getting a WM to mix things up a bit. Since I spend only about two-thirds of the time locked at the end of the cage, I ordered it half an inch shorter than my current one (and yes, I am definitely a grower). MM suggests being capped for 90% of the time and recommends going half an inch smaller, which is what I did. However, I’m slightly worried because you can’t extend a cage’s length. I’ve noticed many people keep ordering shorter devices with each purchase. Has anyone gone too short and ended up regretting it?
