Widening the Gap: Does It Require Bending the Base Ring?

I’ve got a base ring that’s quite comfortable, along with an MM cage:?

On top of that, I picked up another MM gadget from someone else on here—just a lockable ring.

This new piece sits onto my existing base ring, but the space between them is noticeably tighter…

So here’s what I’m wondering… My goal is to make that gap wider. Is the short answer simply bending the post of the base ring? Ideally, I’d prefer not to touch the base ring itself and instead adjust the angle of the connection hole on this new device somehow…

Does that sound right?:lol::lol::lol: If it’s unclear, I can upload some pictures.
