Looker - how can I remove the plug with less effort?

I’m currently secured in a Looker 02 (though it’s undergoing modifications at the moment). I take care when putting it on and use antiseptic lubricant, which works well for me (sometimes I just need to wait for my penis to become flaccid again). I’ve never experienced pain during insertion or afterward. However, removing the cage and extracting the plug has been a bit different. My penis often swells with anticipation, so most of the time I yank out the plug rather quickly. Consequently, I feel some discomfort in the urethra near the tip, which can remain irritated for several days. Usually, I’ve worn it locked for weeks at a stretch, but since the cage will return from modification in about a week, my wife enjoys teasing me to get me aroused. If she continues this while I’m re-locked (which is fine by me), I’ll need to remove and replace it more often. So perhaps someone could offer some helpful advice on how to avoid pain when taking the plug out again?
