Over the years, I’ve picked up on numerous subtle shifts caused by wearing a belt. The other day, as I sat and reflected on some of these smaller adjustments, one stood out: going to public restrooms while having drinks with the guys at the bar.
I’m currently locked in a CB6000, which has been my lock for several years now (I started when the CB2000 was new). A key change I’ve noticed is how much—or little—I drink based on the cleanliness of the restroom at our location. For example, while out with the boys, I often find myself needing to pee but unable or unwilling to stand up; in fact, I can’t recall the last time I did. As we know, sitting becomes necessary for me because I have to actually sit down and aim into the bowl rather than hovering over it like before.
Any guy will tell you that men’s restrooms aren’t always conducive to sitting due to their layout or condition. If our spot has a clean bathroom where I can comfortably take my seat, I’m happy to linger for several drinks knowing there’s a decent place to go if needed. However, if the venue is more like a pigsty regarding its facilities, my drinking drops significantly—I have to nurse that drink longer while enduring some teasing from the guys about it.
Thus, even how much fun and how many drinks I enjoy when out with friends are subtly controlled by my Keyholder (KH), who wasn’t even aware of this influence. Life changes in small ways without you immediately noticing them, yet still leading to a very happy existence.
What have been your little adjustments?
