I’m about to hand over the key for my partner, so I’ve been test-running a device. With the anti-off spikes installed, the cage holds its position much more securely. Since the ring is now sized correctly, however, I am cautious about potential damage.

When I wore it with a slightly oversized ring at home, the spikes were comfortable and stayed put. But yesterday, when locked up, they became unbearable, leaving deep indentations on my skin. Today, they fit well enough that I can feel them gently pressing in; my concern is what will happen over several hours or days.

The keyholder has past issues with spikes but appreciates how this setup keeps the device snug against the body for a better fit. While I dislike unnecessary pain, devices have a tendency to slip off on me—a problem that led us to quit before. So, what’s the best approach? Any advice is welcome.

PPS: The spikes have been in for about 45 minutes now; I can feel the tip of the removable middle spike, but haven’t checked for indentations yet.
