I don’t use a chastity device because my wife finds them too strange and is put off by the idea of a male one, so I’m taking the approach of quitting masturbation instead. Here’s what I’ve discovered up to now. The issue with men masturbating while married is that they never have to master the art of pleasing another person; why should they when all they need to do during sexual urges is relieve themselves? They don’t really have to put in effort to get sex within marriage. Speaking only for myself, I’ve stopped masturbation and noticed my libido has dropped, which was my main goal. On that front, it seems to be working well, and I find I’m being nicer toward my wife. There’s another reason why married people shouldn’t masturbate: since you aren’t always thinking of your partner, could this not count as a sort of affair? It might only be in the mind rather than involving physical contact with someone else. The points here are based on personal opinion rather than hard facts. I’d love to see what others think.
