Difficulties with wearing a device? discussion

I’ve got a Steelworx cage that, while not custom-made for me, fits pretty well. It’s definitely the comfiest one I’ve owned. During waking hours it’s unnoticeable and causes no issues at all—super comfortable. The trouble usually starts at night like most people find. I’m familiar with the pinching/burning sensation others report when skin gets caught; that isn’t too bad to manage with some lube, but there’s another type of pain for me.

It’s a dull ache, and if I check around, it seems my tubes/spermatic cords (not sure on the exact term) are noticeably bigger and swollen compared to normal. That area feels like where the dull pain originates.

This happens mostly when I get quite erect, which tends to happen at night. My testicles darken a bit in color—though not as much as they can if I put on a tight cock ring for testing—and stay warm.

Perhaps this isn’t something everyone notices? Could you check yours out for me? Feel your cords while soft first to gauge their size, then try getting hard inside the cage and see if they swell at all. My worry is whether blood flow to my balls might be restricted, potentially causing damage over time. I’m unsure how long I stay erect overnight or if I wake up immediately upon doing so. If it’s only for a few minutes, there shouldn’t be an issue.

Opting for a larger ring or increasing the spacing between the ring and cage for this device isn’t cheap because it means getting a completely new cage! So before committing to that cost, I want to be absolutely certain whether this is actually a problem and what might be causing it.
