Here is a reply I wrote to another thread regarding the birdlocked. It’s my pseudo-review, copy-pasted over, so hopefully it deserves its own new thread here. Enjoy.

I picked up my birdlocked maxi on Monday afternoon; after sex that night, I was promptly locked up and the key went around my wife’s neck—I couldn’t be happier with both the device and the lifestyle. My main concern was sizing… I measured and remeasured but remained apprehensive. I’ve read quite a few poor reviews, mostly from people who struggle being able to pull out. I think it’s just about having the right anatomy for the device. I’m a bit of a big boy, yet still worried it might be too large or small, etc. It fits me perfectly even as the 53mm maxi. Completely soft; I have slightly under a quarter-inch left in the tube.

I really like the wide strap; it hugs me just fine, and I can only pull out after a long hot shower when everything is hot, saggy, and soapy. I’m not sure if the maxi has small improvements, such as regarding the locking pin or straps breaking… I assume that by releasing both the pico and the maxi, the company took previous models’ complaints into consideration. My job is fairly active—moving and lifting a lot—and I’ve had no problems thus far. I did have to adjust it on day 3 after sweating all day at work and shaving the night before, but nothing short of grabbing the ball skin and pulling it through (at that time, it had only slipped down half an inch). Even then, when sweaty and slightly lowered, I still couldn’t pull it off.

I’m noticing a little irritation, but it’s just because hair is growing back since I nair-ed two days ago. As mentioned before, I believe the birdlocked simply needs the right cock. I’m somewhat fearful of plastic shards and something with no give causing my CB line to fail (like if I hit it while lifting something at work; plastic makes a distinct noise), which is why I never found the x000s appealing. Cleaning isn’t too much trouble. The day I shaved, my wife let me take the device off for a shower, and I gave all parts involved a thorough cleaning and drying. There may be a little water left after the shower, but it dries quickly.

Tonight when I asked her for the key before my shower, she said, “You told me you could take a shower with it on… so no, you’re not getting the key now; get your ass in the shower.” My plan was to do a good cleaning every other day so I can reach all of the shaft, but I was too aroused by her comment to protest, so I just marched off. I digress since that last bit has nothing to do with the device itself.

Anyway, overall FOR ME it was the best choice, and I haven’t encountered some of the problems others have. One more thing on ‘possible upgrades’: the bad reviews I’ve read were all from early 2010 or earlier, so they predate the new models… again just assuming based on that logic, but maybe things have changed over at birdlocked. It’s day 4 and I’m loving it. It does make you look at your KH differently and want to pamper them.

Hope this review helps… I’ve known of my kinks and fetishes since I was 14 (femdom, smoking, boots, yada-yada), and my wife indulges me in them, but chastity is on a whole other level… and I can tell she’s enjoying it too.
