After taking the Phoenix Guardian out of its box and putting it on, I wanted to share my early impressions. I’ve been wearing the Guardian for about seven hours now without any discomfort. The main issues are those persistent little scratches that don’t seem to fade—just something I’ll have to get accustomed to—and getting the device secured properly. Even though there were no rough edges or burrs, I actually managed to pinch a bit of skin between the cage and the ring while installing it. Surprisingly, even with this minor injury, the anti-pull-out feature is so effective that it makes putting the Guardian on a bit tricky. It’s hard for me to picture escaping without cutting off the key or breaking the lock entirely. With practice, I think removal will be manageable despite what looks like a challenge at first. Tonight marks my first night sleeping in the Guardian; let’s see how it holds up.
