I’m new here, so please be gentle if I step on any protocols, but this age-old question has me compelled to speak up. The chastity experience varies from person to person; despite many overlapping themes or commonalities (think Wittgensteinian family resemblances for the philosophers among us), we all ultimately have our own unique tastes, motives, and desires. I also realize that not all of our personal preferences might even be fully known to ourselves—knowing thyself is a lifelong journey. Still, I am very eager to learn more about the subjective experience of this game/practice/lifestyle from the perspective of keyholders.
So, I would love to hear reflections from the keyholders among us or from those who are chaste and have insight into our keyholders’ viewpoint. Here are some sample questions to get things started, but feel free to respond however you like: What enjoyment do you gain from your role in this game/activity/lifestyle? Who initiated it? If the KH was the initiator, how did you convince him? If the chastened partner started it, what was your initial reaction? How did that reaction evolve over time? What benefits do you enjoy as a result of this practice? Are there any aspects you don’t like? To what extent is your enjoyment derived from understanding that your chastened partner also enjoys it, and to what extent do you authentically and independently enjoy the practice yourself? Why? (By the way, I’m using “keyholder” in a generic sense; even if you, like my wife and I currently, use the honor system rather than a keyed/locked device).
I’m sure the answers will be as diverse as there are respondents, but I look forward to seeing your replies (that is, if anyone will indulge me). Cheers!
