Four hour drive and everything went numb about halfway

I drive for work, usually two to four hours at a stretch. On Tuesday I did a long one and about halfway through everything went numb. Not pins and needles, properly numb. I stopped at services, walked around for ten minutes and it came back to normal, and the rest of the drive was fine.

It has not happened before. I do not want it to happen again. Is this a fit problem, a sitting problem, or a stop making four hour drives problem?

Numbness is the one symptom nobody should be relaxed about. It resolved when you moved, which is the good version, but if it happens again, unlock and get it checked properly rather than filing it under a thing that happens on long drives.

Two hours is about my limit seated without shifting, and I do a lot of driving. Break every ninety minutes, get out, walk for five. You should probably be doing that on a four hour drive anyway for reasons that have nothing to do with any of this.

Also look at what you are sitting on and what you are wearing. A hard driving seat and tight jeans will do this to people wearing nothing at all. The device may be the last straw rather than the cause.

It was a hire car with a firmer seat than mine, now you mention it, and I had been in it since six in the morning.
