I keep my whole life fairly clean and tidy, and the hygiene side is the thing holding me back from longer lockups. Short wears are easy because I just take it off and shower. But a few days straight worries me.

I do not want irritation, or that shut-in smell, and I am not sure how much you can really clean with the cage on. What is your routine for staying fresh over multiple days? Do you accept some removals, or is there a way to keep it on and stay properly clean?

Warm water in the shower with a squeeze bottle gets most of the way there, but the step people skip is drying. Trapped moisture causes far more grief than the cage does. Get it fully dry after every rinse and most irritation never starts. A cool hairdryer on low sorts the bits you cannot reach with a towel.

I take mine off every day or two for a proper wash and I do not treat that as cheating. Removing to clean is just maintenance. Clean skin beats a long unbroken streak every time. Check your skin while it is off too, so any hot spot gets caught early instead of turning into a real problem.
