Hi all, I’m Sweetness and just starting out as a key holder. My partner (HerWish) and I are delving into the world of chastity, currently taking measurements for a Jailbird model. We picked up a cage back in early March, but our experience with it has been mixed. The base ring was flat with a central hinge that caused some irritation; I would have liked an open-style design better for teasing. We put moleskin over the hinge and tried using lotion to stop chafing, yet we still ran into problems. That’s what brought us to consider the Jailbird option. Here I am now! I have a question - when measuring for the base ring, is it typical to get chafed with non-metal rings (plastic or rubber)? Should you wear them for shorter intervals rather than 8 hours straight? I'd advise against wearing plastic rings for long stretches. The material is coarse, has seams, and generally isn't very comfortable. Just use them to get the size right; rest assured that the steel ring will feel much better once it gets here. On a side note, I think you should choose the double base ring with an oval shape. These two features combined create a really cozy fit.
