The advice I received was to set it up so that either removal wasn’t possible, or re-insertion was blocked, which let her know when I had taken the device out. It took a bit of effort, but now my security is as good as it can get. I used the stainless steel ring located behind the head and connected it with a length of 16-gauge speaker wire. At the other end of that wire, there’s another loop soldered on; this is where I place the plastic “padlock” once it has been pulled through to the bottom. The flexibility of the wire allows it to slip right through the opening. I drilled a precise 1/8-inch hole in the underside of the device. With the ring and wire already positioned, sliding back into the unit is very straightforward—I just reach inside with tweezers to guide that small wire loop through the new hole. Afterward, I clip on the plastic lock; since it won’t fit back through the hole, it stays put. This setup provides enough give for me to shrink or expand fully without risking dislodgement. Of course, I could technically remove the ring entirely, but there’s no easy way to slide that small ring back over the head while the main body is still in place. I’ve never felt this confined before—it really is my first time experiencing such a tight seal.
