Contender Compared to MM Jailbird

I doubt the finish will hold up well on my $25.00 Chinese Jailbird. However, now that I know my ring size, I can order another from Amazon for just $16.00 with shipping included. That makes custom pricing seem really steep. That said, I am thinking about going custom. The Contender seems like a solid piece and costs $70 less than the MM Jailbird. Still, the idea of buying it was somewhat off-putting when I realized I could easily copy my cheap cage’s dimensions for the custom one. It offers only those same three ring sizes as my inexpensive model. On the plus side, the Contender has a PA lock option if I decide to go that way later. My current device stays on without balls slipping out and is short enough after modification to wear comfortably under clothes. I wouldn’t want to just duplicate it and end up with no real comfort improvement. However, knowing that even an eighth of an inch can make the difference between working well or being quite uncomfortable, I am hesitant to spend more money on the MM Jailbird just for minor adjustments. What does anyone think about the Contender compared to the MM Jailbird?
