Best Padlock Choice?

This hasn’t come up much before, but it would really help me out: what specific type of padlock do you all use?

I’ve been experimenting with the inexpensive Chinese locks that usually ship alongside eBay/DHGate devices. They work fine for now, but they’re clearly budget options and might not hold up to daily abuse, showers, and so on. Instead of risking being stuck in an awkward moment because it won’t open, I want something more durable. This info should help anyone else considering this.

Also, with my MM Jailbird, the base and cage can shift back and forth a bit. Having that solid connection, similar to what people mention regarding security screws, would be nice. That means needing a lock with a thicker shackle (pun intended), though I guess there’s a chance it could jam up eventually. Or maybe not.
