How can one get started with urethra sounding?

That’s always been a major turn-off for me, quite often. However, I’ve shifted my perspective and begun experimenting with Urethra Sounding myself. Although I don’t own a dedicated device yet, I’ve given it a shot using q-tips. Honestly, getting even a standard Q-Tip or comparable small item inserted is tough and very painful.

I’m curious if anyone has any tips? Cheers!
