Chafing and Device Width

I’m trying to figure out what I can do about the chafing on the bottom of my penis where the cage sits. Because of this issue, I’ve taken a break from wearing my Bon4 right now. The length seems correct based on other people’s advice—it’s just a bit shorter than when I’m soft. But when arousal hits, I feel quite a bit of pressure across the width of the device. My shaft tends to expand outward noticeably. A metal cage isn’t an option for me because of my job. My flaccid size here is 4 1/2” (114mm), expanding to about 6 1/2” (165mm) around at the base. Is there a method to prevent this chafing, or should I just tough it out?
