We started with four rules. A year later there are about thirty, spread over two pages of a shared note, because every time something came up we added a line for it rather than dealing with the thing.
Half of them we have not applied in months. A couple contradict each other. Last week we had an argument that was genuinely about which of two rules was in force, which is the least sexy argument two adults have ever had.
How do other people keep this from happening? Do you prune? Do you start over?
