Unlocked for a medical thing and now I do not want to go back in

Had to be out for a fortnight for something medical, all fine, cleared to go back. Except I do not want to, and I cannot work out whether that is a real feeling or just inertia after two weeks of not thinking about it.

My keyholder has been very good about it and has said there is no rush, which somehow makes it worse because now I am disappointing someone who is being nice.

Two weeks out is long enough for the habit to break and the habit was doing a lot of the work. Give it a short, low stakes go rather than a decision. An evening, not a month. You will know within about an hour which of the two it is.

Also worth telling her the last part of your post, because she almost certainly cannot see it. From where she is standing you are being quiet, and no rush is what people say when they do not know what else to offer. The disappointing someone loop is doing more damage here than the fortnight did.

Did an evening. Was fine, better than fine. Turns out the thing I was dreading was making the decision, not the thing itself.
