My wife lovingly locked me in a jailbird device, and after thorough research, we decided on the best option for my situation. Since I am an uncrower (a “grower”), we chose a custom-made hinged ring with a perfect fit, plus a cage that extends about 3/4 to 1 inch beyond my flaccid length. I struggle to understand why some argue the device should be shorter than my flaccid size; for me personally, my penis fluctuates slightly in size throughout the day even without arousal. If I wore a snug cage that stopped all growth completely, I’d likely spend half the day walking or sitting awkwardly just because of room temperature changes.

To me, wearing a device that causes constant distraction defeats the purpose. The base ring needs to be snug enough to stop movement and chafing, which I believe is the critical part. I feel that choosing a cage that allows some growth prevents extreme discomfort. Committing to let someone else control your sexual release permanently is hard work (no pun intended) on its own; adding problems like night swelling or length changes due to temperature makes it even tougher if you restrict movement too much.
