Mature Metal discussion

Hi there,

I’m thinking about buying a Mature Metal unit (specifically the Jailbird model). They provide optional double base rings as an add-on. My understanding is that these feature two separate rings, whereas the standard base ring has just one. What are the benefits of this setup? Maybe it provides better resistance against the device sliding downward?

I’d welcome any thoughts on this topic (both pros and cons).
