Mature Metal discussion

I’ve searched high and low for a thread discussing this matter without success, so I hope I’m not retreading old ground. Here is my query:

John received his MM Jailbird on Saturday, and it has been nothing short of ideal. The design is fantastic, teasing through the bars is delightful (hehe), it’s incredibly comfortable, easy to clean—you name it. However, he’s struggling with how the padlock sits. Unlike his previous CB6000 where it rested flat against the CD, this one lays horizontally. As anyone owning a JB knows, this causes it to protrude laterally. John cites two main grievances:

1. When sitting (driving or otherwise), it presses into his thigh.
2. The lock’s weight pulls the device sideways on his shaft, worsening the digging issue in his leg.

My question is: Does anyone use a padlock that sits flat and forward against their cage? If so, what type do you recommend? Currently, he wears plastic numbered locks, which are adequate for now. However, as a woman who enjoys wearing her key herself, I find this less than ideal. Wearing it while pretending to hold the unlock power feels like cheating; it diminishes the enjoyment. I cherish the symbolic gesture of removing my personal key when unlocking him. Plus, I love getting asked what the pendant around my neck or ankle is for. giggles

Or is he just being sensitive and needs to endure the occasional discomfort? It does require a slight adjustment to his device position, which means constant tugging at his fly area. I really want it to look like he isn’t a little boy who has just discovered his anatomy.;)
