Novices and newbies discussion

My keyholder and I are new to this. We’re both still a bit clumsy and out of sync in our daily routines. Additionally, she hasn’t quite built up the confidence yet to truly humiliate me or act coldly, which is what I’m looking for. I hesitate to make suggestions because I worry about “topping from the bottom” or driving her away completely. Could you share how your D/s dynamic grew and how much time it took? Naturally, I realize everyone’s situation is unique.
