Greetings to all the captives among us.

I’m a self-locker who has been dabbling in this hobby intermittently over the past decade. Although I am married, like many of you, my wife isn’t very receptive to this lifestyle. I’ve tried bringing her around on several occasions, but she just can’t quite get on board.

It’s worth noting that both my wife and I are Asian, which means we come from a more conservative background.

I began my most recent self-locking journey last week. My wife isn’t strongly opposed to chastity itself; rather, she doesn’t understand why I prefer to lock myself up. She is quite happy to keep the key as just another object that I hand over to her—so you could call her a “Passive Keyholder”. Given our conservative roots, I suppose this is about the best outcome I can hope for.

Here is my question for the community:

I’ve noticed different opinions on which underwear works best while locked up. I’m perfectly fine in boxers, but tighter briefs feel rather uncomfortable because they tend to push everything downward. Others have mentioned that these are actually more comfortable and provide better support for the balls. How valid is this? Is there any risk when your testicles hang free around the house without being dressed?
