I’ve been thinking about getting a Prince Albert lately. I’d love one, but my keyholder strongly opposes any body modification. So, I tried crafting something like a teatherspout device myself, though it didn’t work out perfectly; the challenge was finding suitable materials. Then one day, while doing something very ordinary (filing my tax return!), it hit me. The retainer on the paper file in use had exactly the right dimensions and shape. A picture speaks volumes, so here is an image I made below. tumblr_pavlbsTZM51v3chweo1_1280.jpg The device I created appears quite safe and secure. Insertion is straightforward since each of the two retainers goes in separately, with the thin wire making entry easy. Once inserted and joined together while locked, the curved ends form a mushroom shape that prevents withdrawal as long as they remain linked. Custom fitting for any individual is simple. First, size the end loop so it’s large enough to enter the urethra easily without stretching or discomfort. Next, increase the angle of the end bend in the loop until it reaches its maximum comfortable width when the two parts are joined. The only issue with my first version is that it uses chromed steel; if the chrome flakes off, there could be a risk. Food grade stainless steel wire would be an excellent alternative material and should be easy to find in catering supplies. Another upgrade might be shortening the device. It doesn’t need to be more than an inch or two long, and making the external ends interlock would add stability when locked. Plastic is another option; two similarly shaped plastic pieces would be lightweight yet equally secure.
