Chastity and orgasm denial discussion

Before, I would only wear my chastity device for one to two hours at a time (mostly because it caused pain in my testes). Now that the discomfort is gone, I’ve begun extending those periods. Today, I realized that just rinsing it off in the shower wasn’t enough; I had to remove it to give it a proper cleaning, which ended my longest stint yet at about 48 hours. When I finally took it out, there was an unusual feeling of loss or disappointment that I hadn’t experienced before. Is this unique to me, or is it fairly common? Also, what duration do you suggest for someone just starting out (excluding time taken off for cleaning)? P.S. On a side note, if you have a keyholder present, how do you handle keeping the cage clean while locked up? I’d appreciate any tips and tricks that help stay caged longer.
