I’ve had my 18A for several weeks now and decided to share a review. Before this, I wore cb2000 & 6000 models, mature metal devices, and birdcages.

I’d wanted a Lori device for ages and finally bought one last summer. In July, at size 10g, I got a pa piercing and then ordered the unit in mid-September with a 6ga pin. Stretching from 10g to 6g took about two months without issue. My main concern was whether this newer piercing could support the device weight; as many know, Lori’s wait times have increased lately, which gave my piercings extra time to heal naturally. The only downside was that I was told three months for healing, but it actually took five. Fortunately, there has been no soreness from the piercing itself because the device doesn’t press against it at all.

I selected the 18A model with recessed security screws and a swinging pa pin. I chose this specific one due to its open design and shorter lead times compared to the 2 series models.

Although some have criticized customer service negatively, my experience was flawless. Lori took time to answer all my pre-purchase questions thoroughly. When the device arrived, the base ring was slightly too small (though not her fault), so I sent it back for resizing. This turnaround was quick—about a week including shipping—which showed she could handle adjustments efficiently.

To determine sizing, I used my old cb6000 and a tape measure. There are many methods out there; while mine might not suit everyone, it worked perfectly for me. Since I use the middle ring on the cb6000, I measured the base ring relative to that. The cb6000 has oval base rings, which allow for a smaller fit, so I requested an oval shape as well. Lori builds her oval rings with height and depth rather than width like the cb6000’s. Although my initial measurements were accurate, it still needed slight enlargement. She increased it by 1/8 inch. This standing-egg-shaped oval ring is incredibly comfortable—the best I’ve ever worn on any device—and I believe the shape plays a major role in that comfort.

For the cage diameter, I referenced the cb6000 which fits me quite snugly; she made this area slightly larger (1/8 inch). For length, she shortened it by 1/2” compared to my usual flaccid length of 4”. The idea was to reduce pressure on the piercing by allowing for natural shrinkage, especially in colder weather when that dimension decreases.

I worried about the security screws being easily defeated with a standard small screwdriver based on another review I read. However, they are very secure—crucial for me. While no device is absolutely impenetrable given enough time and tools (though removing it might damage the unit), this setup comes as close to perfect security as possible.

Lori suggested the swinging pa pin for active individuals, a recommendation I find spot-on. There is no pulling or pinching that would aggravate my piercing despite its movement.

The fit is excellent. Wearing it continuously since returning from resizing has been totally comfortable—a pleasant surprise. The pa pin resembles a sword and adds noticeable weight to the device. It remains the most comfortable piece I’ve used. Despite my active lifestyle, there have been no problems, which also surprised me. In fact, I already handed the keys to my wife; I am confident it can stay on as long as she desires. The mental relief of having such a secure lock is quite rewarding.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions about this review. Edit: Surprisingly, I can stand and urinate without issue, so using public restrooms isn’t a problem. For those with pa rings, even that process can be tricky sometimes, but my device handles it well.
