You’ll find several other sites and forums focused on this. You can grab a set of sounding rods from eBay without breaking the bank.
My top tip is to let go and never force it; gravity handles most of the heavy lifting as time goes by.
There are plenty more out there.
Since you aren’t dealing with advanced sounding or prostate work, standard rods will serve you well. Stick to stainless steel HEGAR SOUNDS and stay away from ribbed, beaded, hollow, or silicone options.
Sounding carries risks if not done correctly. Even though I’ve had a permanent steel urethral sound in place for over four years? To avoid any criticism, I still recommend against it. I’m no expert. No doctor here.
