C suggested moving to a separate space instead of her main thread, so we can hash out the rules among ourselves as she proposed. We’re feeling our way along together, discussing tactics, bluffing, and just enjoying the camaraderie. C’s “Don’t overwhelm me” note might have sounded slightly harsh, but I understand what she’s getting at. And honestly, maybe I share some blame for it. When C asked, “Why is everyone talking to you in my journal? Is your inbox broken?” I told her this wasn’t always the case. The journals were meant for posting entries, while other pages handled conversation. Until last year, I’d get about one comment for every ten posts; now it’s flipped around. Fewer main entries, more comments. It just seems to be where things are heading. I pointed out the forum rules, and naturally, C pounced on them. C loves rules because they’re straightforward and logical: “Stay off the Grass.” Or in this context: “Threads here are for journaling (blogging, diary-style updates). Others may reply, but please keep comments minimal to preserve important discussions in the forums.” Enter Judge C C believes she’ll scold you if you wander onto the grass. She feels her own diary should have the most entries. I agreed immediately without hesitation. I’m already dealing with enough trouble as it is. The curfew begins in 10 minutes, so I’m off to browse.
