You usually put everything in the basket, pass through the conveyor belt and metal detector, retrieve your items, and head on out. I find my tiny SS model very comfortable for constant wear—my wife is aware of it as part of my daily routine, at least over these last few weeks. When life gets hectic, I sometimes barely notice it, which led to a bit of embarrassment recently.
I had taken off the device before heading into the courthouse business that day. But then came the security check: items in the basket, walking through, lights flashing and alarms chirping while people watched security guards with handheld wands come closer. I kept thinking to myself, Did I really take it out? I was confident I had; my pockets were empty and I hadn’t moved suddenly. Yet there I stood frozen with arms wide open as they scanned me thoroughly, especially down below… nothing came up.
“Alright sir, you’re good,” they said. I grabbed my belongings from the basket and left, taking a deep breath afterward.
When I told my wife about it later, she let out a delightful little giggle.
