A Partner's Assistance with Device Changes

Has anyone else struggled when their KH attempts to “help” with installing or taking off the device? My partner is particular about her manicured nails, so every time she tries to install or remove a closed ring unit, it ends up being painful and messy for me. I figure this happens because she can’t feel what’s going on inside, meaning she doesn’t realize she’s hurting me until I tell her. (That makes sense) I’ve been searching for units with hinged rings that won’t pinch me—so far no luck, even when sliding tubing over them—which she could remove during our play sessions and perhaps put back on herself. I own several hinged or open-ring designs, but they are all so “fiddly” that dealing with them became a hassle in itself, leading us to give up for now. Still looking though.

Recently I spotted a device where the spiral cage is permanently attached to the rear ring, and the front ring has hinges at two points. The ring slides into the back of the main ring and secures via a push-button lock on top. I don’t think it’s ideal for daily wear, but maybe perfect for play time. It’s all one piece and operates somewhat like a hand cuff but with a much wider band. Since it’s affordable enough to try, I might order one.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue, or is it just me? Mikel
