We’ve locked in on strict denial for roughly a month, starting around Father’s Day. Our dynamic is quite sporadic—periods of high intensity can last a while, but we also go through long stretches where play pauses entirely. Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed by daily life and need to redirect my mental energy elsewhere. Her libido has dipped slightly, so the denial acts as a bit of relief for her, offering pressure-free space.
After several days in, I’m starting to feel a touch manic, doing my best not to appear needy. I mentioned wanting to try sensory deprivation. Once settled, I plan to focus on building mental patience while she does whatever she pleases over the next few hours (likely bingeing Hulu or Netflix).
My mind needs something to counteract those stress hormones, so I’m fairly committed this time around. That said, my judgment feels a bit fuzzy and my expectations might be too high.
We’ll see how it turns out.
