Alright then, a quick hello to all and let me share a bit about myself. I’ve been married for years and have spent roughly the last eighteen months going in and out of a CB-6000s cage. We’re considering chastity as a long-term thing, but not necessarily in the way people might assume. Instead of leaving it on continuously for months or years at a stretch, we prefer doing 7, 14, or 30-day periods repeatedly going forward.
Right now, my current one is set aside because of ring issues (which seems to be pretty common). The two biggest sizes—the only ones that actually fit me—broke right at the weakest spots where they connect to the locking pins.
So after an ill-advised trip by my wife to buy cheap Chinese imitations (those lasted less than 72 hours total), we’re kind of stuck. Here are the options we’re weighing:
-
Purchase another ring or two directly from the original manufacturer. The rings we had did last a year and a half, so $40 every 18 months isn’t exactly breaking the bank, but that timeline offers no guarantees.
-
Invest in one of these: … 0-cb6000s/
It looks like it would work well enough. Provided the ring doesn’t need to bend excessively to fit into the plastic locking mechanism, we could probably grind out any burrs or minor measurement discrepancies with a Dremel tool. However, the text on their site clearly indicates this isn’t a US-based company. That’s not necessarily an issue, but I’d like confirmation that the rings are genuine steel and not just chrome-plated or some other metal that might turn my testicles green in the shower during summer (or worse).

Switch to all-metal entirely. It’s tempting, but it comes with several challenges. First off, I am a total grower. When aroused, I’m about 4 1/2-5 inches long, but flaccid? I’ve never measured exactly, but let’s just say my penis can’t be counted on to provide support for the cage while I’m working or walking around. Then there is the weight. The best estimates suggest a metal CB6000s replica weighs about three times as much as the plastic version. My worry is that at that point, it will function more like a ball stretcher than a proper cage. I don’t mind sliding the cage tighter against my body to urinate (I always kept the CB lubricated with baby oil gel), but having to shove my rapidly stiffening penis back into the cage every time arousal hits is a definite deal-breaker. Additionally, I have this paranoia—probably misplaced—that something terrible will happen to my urethra if it gets caught on something or stretched open, which was part of what drew me to the more enclosed design of the CB.

Save up and invest in a Holy Trainer? Maybe? I read some reviews; people seem to love them, but I didn’t find anyone with my specific situation reviewing one.
So there we are. I was hoping someone here who has dealt with a similar scenario (or just possesses a lot of knowledge) could offer advice or point me in the right direction.
Like many guys, I have some trepidation about any device that involves inserting my penis into it. Since there aren’t physical stores where you can handle and try these out first, I want this purchase to be as informed as possible, especially if we’re looking at a significant investment.
In case anyone is curious: urethral insertions/catheter tubes and PAs are absolutely off the table for me. No disrespect to them if that’s your thing, but there is a 0% chance I will ever have either one done.
So… Yep. That covers it all, I think. If anyone wants to know anything else, just ask! Thanks in advance!
