I’m flying through airport security with my Jailbird this May, carrying the box that holds the locked keys. The cage keys are secured inside a container, while its own key is still back in Hong Kong. I’d rather not crack open the box or send her an email to mail them over. I already spoke with the airline (I have a reservation) and they assured me it should be fine, although she likely meant ‘fine’ for getting through physically, without guaranteeing how much embarrassment I’ll endure (I was too shy to ask more). She also pointed out there’s no need to declare anything on my ticket because security personnel usually ignore those notes.
I can tolerate a fair amount of humiliation, but if it gets really bad, I’ll have her send the key. Any thoughts?
