Hello everyone. I haven’t been here long, although I’ve watched many discussions over the years. You’re usually so helpful that I decided to share what I know about chastity devices and ask for some advice.
I have a background in chastity. It has evolved from being an occasional kink into something I want to do for longer periods. This means I need a device that fits my lifestyle with these features:
- Stays put securely
- Easy to clean
- Won’t disturb sleep
- Avoids chafing or sores near the testicles
- Not too heavy
- Quiet operation
- Doesn’t bulge much or sit strangely in skinny jeans
- Compatible with flexible sports and tight gear (cycling, rock climbing, yoga, etc.)
- Safe to wear (no rust risk; bumps won’t hurt my penis)
- Ideally passes through metal detectors without setting them off
That is quite a list. Physically, I am lean with little body hair in my mid-20s. My testicles sit high and I have a small circumcised ‘grower’ type: about 2” when soft (4” circumference) and 5” erect (4.5” circumference).
I began with the CB6000S. It was reasonably secure due to its smaller ball ring, but difficult to clean. The overall size felt too large in every dimension, causing discomfort while sitting and sleeping. The plastic rim of the ball ring chafed against my skin. It wouldn’t fit well under tight jeans and seemed clumsy for sports activities. Eventually, the cage split apart. I glued it back together using moldable plastic to strengthen it, but that didn’t solve the other issues.

Next, I tried an A080 steel cage from DHGate which I modified by pinching the rings closer to reduce its length. It wasn’t bad, except for another hard-edged ball ring that made long-term wear difficult. Also, my glans can slip through the front bars when I move around. The shaft rings measure 3.2cm wide. The steel quality was excellent; no issues with rust or chrome plating.

I went back to DHGate for what they call a ‘gimp short cage’. It resembles the A080 but has a solid metal cap on the shaft, one less shaft ring, and a round ball ring (minus the urethral sound I removed). This seems like a version of the Steelwerx Looker 02. The fit is comfortable, yet not secure because the space between the ball ring and shaft rings is too wide. Aligning my urinary opening with the cap’s hole can be tricky, leading to messy urination. Additionally, those shaft rings are actually 3.5cm across, making the whole unit feel oversized for me.

I’ve decided that ball-trap devices generally aren’t secure enough for my anatomy. Any ring small enough to avoid long-term irritation is likely too large to keep my penis contained. I also disagree with the notion that a device must stop erections completely. For me, they still happen; the device just sticks out and pulls on my testicles. Perhaps the discomfort keeps some men flaccid. I am undecided if I want to add reinforcement for this.
I would prefer remaining capable of arousal so I can perform sexually when needed, while simply being unable to reach orgasm.
My next idea involves a Perineal Arch (PA) combined with a simple tube like the PA-5000. I created a thin plastic prototype in that shape to test it. It turns out I can achieve an orgasm with this setup. It is more difficult, but if my corona remains exposed at the base of the glans, success is possible. However, I am quite confident that keeping the corona covered would prevent it.
Therefore, I am looking for something similar to a Lori #5 (essentially a tube with bars over the head and no ball ring) that can be attached to a PA. Aside from the metal detector concern, this seems to tick all my boxes. Is anyone currently using this pairing? How has your long-term experience been? What about the PA itself—what positive or negative effects have you noticed?
