Is asking for a two week trial insulting?

Someone has offered to hold for me and wants to start with three months. I would rather do two weeks first and then talk about it again.

I cannot work out how to say that without it sounding like I do not trust her, which is not the case. I just do not know what three months of this feels like, because I have never done more than a weekend.

Has anyone asked for something like this? How did it go down?

Any holder with sense will be relieved. Three months is a long commitment for her too, and if you turn out to hate it in week two she has to manage that. Frame it as a trial for both of you and it stops sounding like distrust immediately.
